A Kenyan Papu Haroon is a finalist of the #ChivasVenture Challenge (and he needs our votes)

As you know, this blog is pro-entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs who are doing great things in the continent are exciting to us and we use every opportunity to support them. This is one such opportunity.

Papu Haroon, the founder of Kilifi Moringa is a finalist of the Chivas Venture Challenge. This is a competition by Chivas Regal (the whiskey brand), that aims to reward social entrepreneurs with $1 million in capital to grow their businesses.

Kilifi Moringa is a social enterprise that supports smallholder women farmers to grow Moringa trees, from which they harvest seeds, press them to extract oil, which Kilifi Moringa sells both locally and internationally. Kilifi Moringa was born of an observation by Papu, that the women would use Moringa leaves as food, but throw away the seeds whose oil is treasured in the cosmetic industry.

Kilifi Moringa has so far impacted over 300 families, and winning this money will see them expand their operations.

Please support the only Kenyan finalist Papu Haroon to win the top prize by voting for him on this link. Chivas will reward the winning contestant (by the number of votes) with $50,000, and the next 4 with $20,000 each and the remaining 22 participants will get $3,182.

The remaining $800,000 will be awarded based on the contestants’ pitches at the Chivas Ventures conference in May.

Thank you.
