Fusion Capital Launches A Kshs 2.3Bn D-REIT

Fusion Capital has opened the sale of its development real estate investment trust, commonly referred to as D-Reit, to the public at a price of Sh23 per unit. Fusion hopes to raise Kshs 2.3 billion through the sale of 100 million REIT units, and the offer closes on July 15th.

The funds will go towards developing a mixed residential, office and retail project in Meru; Greenwood City.

When this REIT was approved, I attempted to simplify REITs on our work blog. Hop on there and read, if you’d like to learn more about REITs.

The Fusion REIT will be the second in the Kenyan market, the first being the Stanlib REIT that was issued in 2015. It appears that this offer is targeted at high net worth investors (HNWIs), as the minimum investment is Kshs 5 million. The units will be listed at the NSE in July.
